Tudor Grange Academy Redditch hosted a Rock and Pop schools festival on Tuesday 5th July. The performance was part of a week long ‘Voices and Visions’ festival of Arts and Music, organised by Worcestershire Youth Music and the County Arts Service. It was a showcase of some of the best young Instrumentalists and Vocalists from around the county with acts that included original songs and covers of well known rock and pop artists such as London Grammar, Jess Glynne, Cascada, Gnash, Amy Winehouse and Prince.
Mrs Wright, Teacher of Music and Performing Arts at TGAR worked alongside WYM to host the event. “We are pleased to be working with our county music service to provide such an exciting opportunity to our own young musicians alongside other local artists, it has given our students a real focus and a fantastic platform to perform to an audience, we hope this is the first of many events that we host here at Tudor Grange in our Theatre, we have great facilities for performances of this nature.”
Trevor Jones of Worcestershire Youth Music commented:
“Worcestershire Youth Music is pleased to be working with Worcestershire Arts Service and Worcestershire schools to stage this year’s Voices and Visions Festival. Our partnership has resulted in many more exciting creative experiences for the children and young people across the county and gives us a wonderful opportunity to showcase and celebrate their impressive talents. Sit back and enjoy!” and our County Arts Officer, Steve Wilson said “I am delighted to see that the 17th year of Voices and Visions is probably our biggest yet! We anticipate thousands of our young artists, actors, dancers and musicians being involved from across the whole county. A massive thanks to all those schools, teachers and arts organisations for being involved. Enjoy this wonderful festival of young talent and be amazed and inspired!”
