Youngsters at Tudor Grange Academy in Redditch have welcomed a new, and somewhat strange, addition to their community. Ozzie, who is a pet therapist, has been working with a number of students at the school who suffer from anxiety. The pooch works works for the charity Pets as Therapists and has previously worked in a number of different schools and hospitals.
Jodie Bolter, school principal, said that he has been a real help.
“All of the staff and students have loved having Ozzie on site,” she said.
“He has worked wonders with some of our students already. We look forward to him being a regular visitor.”
The Pets as Therapists charity has a number of dogs that work across the country in different contexts and believe that they can help de-stress children and adults and bring a sense of happiness.
