The external examinations are coming to an end for Year 11 and now is the time to begin thinking about the next academic year. Therefore, I am writing to confirm arrangements for the Year 12 Induction Days on the 6th and 7th July respectively. The programme is intended to give the students an opportunity to meet the year team, current students, as well as participating in a team-building day on the University trip with their peers and Form Tutors. They will also experience introductory lessons by the teachers that will be delivering their AS / A Level courses. The dress code for these days will be smart casual.
Thursday 6th July
Students will need to arrive at the Sixth Form centre at 8.45 and sign in. They will be prepared by Sixth Form staff for the day ahead and their introductory lessons. The day will run during ‘normal’ lesson times for the students but not for the full hour as in the programme. The students will be expected to spend their noncontact periods in the Study & ICT rooms in the Sixth Form Centre, completing the pre-course study work and extended reading for all their subjects. All of this work will be available on the Tudor Grange Academy Redditch website and must be completed for September 2017. Please note that they will not be allowed to leave the site during the day and should make suitable travel arrangements home at 3.20pm.
Friday 7th July
This will be a visit to the University of Worcester. This visit is intended to give them a taste of a ‘day in the life of a university student’ and is designed to help them appreciate what a student experiences in a typical day, please find attached an itinerary. We would encourage all students to attend this trip and therefore will need to be in the Sixth Form centre by 8.45am. Could you please confirm your son/daughter attendance by returning the reply slip attached. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 01527 830736.
Finally, we wish all of our students good luck in the remainder of their examinations and look forward to seeing them all on the 6th and 7th July for the beginning of their Year 12 Induction Days.
