We realise that the next few months are vitally important for your son/daughter and we are keen to support you and them in every way. As the beginning of the external examination season is getting closer, we would like to make you aware of the following arrangements.
The last day of teaching for Year 13 students will be Friday 26th May. Students will be allowed to leave college at 12.30pm on that day. Discretionary leave will be made available for those students who have AS resit examinations between Monday 15th May and Thursday 25th May, this will be arranged in advance by the Head of Year 13.
It is important to note that Year 13 students are expected to attend timetabled lessons for BTEC courses until the relevant Head of Department has confirmed with the Sixth Form team that a student has completed all of the portfolios required for their course.
Please find attached a copy of the complete timetable for the forthcoming AS and A Level examinations. All students have also been issued their individual examination timetables.
These should be checked carefully for any errors or omissions and any issues should be raised with the Head of Year 13.
We encourage all students to make use of the facilities and work in school during study leave. Sixth Form teachers will continue to be available during their timetabled lessons to support student’s revision and exam preparation. All Sixth Form students will need to sign in and out in the Sixth Form Centre on arrival and departure each day and observe the Sixth Form dress code at all times.
Later this term students will receive further information about the clearance process and the receipt of AS/A Level examination results on Thursday 17th August. We will continue to offer our Sixth Form students every support during the examination period and as they finalise their plans after the results are published.
We wish all our Sixth Form students every success with their examinations.
Mr M Hulme
Head of Year 13
