Skill

Travel and tourism enables students to explore one of the fastest growing industries in the UK with the industry growing at a rate of 4.2% a year. Within Travel and Tourism, students will develop skills, knowledge and an understanding of the travel and tourism industry. They will have an opportunity to gain confidence by developing independent learning skills and applying their understanding in a practical way which will enable them to progress to further education and employment in travel and tourism.

Character

Travel and tourism is also well placed as a subject to develop the character of students who choose to continue their studies. The taught content deals with a variety of social and moral issues which examine many of our Tudor Values, but especially those of tolerance and respect.

Experiences

Students will be consistently exposed to a variety of different tourist destinations as well as businesses which will broaden their understanding of the industry as whole and the diverse range of opinions that exist within it. Within class, students will have the chance to engage with a variety of resources, including photos, films and documentaries.

Criticality

Here at the academy students will be exposed to a variety of different viewpoints and are encouraged to develop their own interpretations and opinions about the past, but to respect and understand opinions different to their own. This allows students to critically engage and deepen their understanding of Travel & Tourism key elements.
